Cartridge Filters
The PF series cartridge filters from WALTER are ideally suited for dust separation in many applications. Almost all types of dust can be easily separated with them. The cartridge filters have been developed in component construction to flexibly adapt them to all requirements regarding dust quality or extraction air volume. The robust devices enable trouble-free 24-hour operation at constant air throughput.
Applications
- Metal processing (welding, grinding, brushing, blasting, cleaning)
- Plastics processing
- Painting work
- Wood-based products industry
- Chemical industry
- Recycling industry
- Stone, earth
Operating Principle
The dust-laden air (raw gas) flows through the inlet opening into the filter housing where it is strongly decelerated by the volume increase, causing coarser dust particles to be pre-separated. The raw gas flows around the cartridges from bottom to top, with dust particles being separated on the filter surface. The cleaned air (clean gas) flows out of the separator through the clean gas outlet and is either returned to the workspace (recirculated air) or discharged outdoors (exhaust air). A switchover device in the exhaust air line also enables alternating operation. The filter elements are cleaned during the filtration process by compressed air pulse cleaning controlled by differential pressure or time. The separated dust falls into the dust collection hopper. Here, the dust is disposed of either automatically or manually via a discharge device.
The PF series cartridge filters from WALTER can be equipped with appropriate safety technology for explosive or flammable dusts. Regulations such as ATEX, VDI etc. are of course taken into account.
The cartridge filters are available from 1,000 m³/h up to 40,000 m³/h. For higher air capacities, the separators are installed in parallel or manufactured according to customer specifications.
